Epic Ad Campaigns With Social Message

The art of storytelling plays a vital role when one has an intention to impact the perspective of the audience. With the right script, message, creativity, timing, music, and, acting, advertisements have portrayed profound narratives to us. Be it our day-to-day lives or situational consequences, advertisers captured and flood us with products and services to arouse hope in our hearts that our lives could resemble the same as shown in the advertisement after buying that product or service. No doubt the evolution in advertising has taken a captivating turn, women are no longer portrayed as only housewives, technology has gifted progress to creativity too, and most importantly, advertisers have started exploring a new way to portray their brand, this new way has an overwhelming art of conveying a message to the masses. Much of our social matters are taken into account to educate people about various topics, these advertising campaigns with social message plays a significant role in changing the society and at the same time gaining goodwill for their brilliant work of art. Here are some good examples of epic ad campaigns with alluring social messages that enthrall our hearts and break us into a smile.

1. Cadbury Remake Ad

Much of the '90s has marked a progressive era for brands to rule the stage through creative advertising. Dairy Milk too had a nostalgic impact in our minds with its appealing jingle "Kuch Khaas Hai" in its old ad. But the brand mesmerized our hearts and won its position when it made a remake of its old ad illustrating the same emotions with the same jingle, but from a different perspective. The old ad depicts a male cricketer hitting century and her girlfriend out of immense joy running into the field dancing and sharing Cadbury with him, showing celebration for (Kuch khaas) extraordinary victory. However, the latest 2021 ad portray a female cricketer hitting century and her boyfriend running and dancing in the field with intense cheerfulness and finally sharing Cadbury to mark the special victory. The ad represents that victory has no gender, making us unlearn the stereotype society fed our minds with.

It's startling how chocolate can make a shift in our thoughts in such an engrossing way through just an ad. When the new ad was released the internet was flooded with a sparkling response from viewers. Indeed, Dairy Milk represented us with such an astonishing and unforeseen message and gained our admiration to another level.

2. Byjus Teachers Day Special Ad

Being students for so many years we often become reluctant to notice the benefits that lie behind our teachers' strict discipline and behaviour towards us. We have been learning for so many years from our teachers but we forget that due to the dreadful arrival of the pandemic our teachers too had to take lots of lessons to make learning flexible and effective for us. It's heartwarming to grasp how Byjus Teachers Day Special ad shows us burdensome struggles many teachers had to go through to teach us online. Not all of our teachers were tech-savvy or up to date with the latest tech knowledge to handle this new era of remote teaching, but they undoubtedly took this challenge and learn how to do it for us.

Byus in its ad illustrates the struggles all the teachers had to go through just to make sure we can study well. The ad onset with an old teacher from a small town getting an order from school to start teaching online, the teacher seemed reluctant at first but anyhow gave it a try by learning how to operate a laptop from his children to teach. After a dozen of trials and errors, the teacher couldn't resist the ghastly struggle and thought to retire. But his inspiration recovered when he got a call from his old imperfect student who narrated to the teacher how he has become a doctor now even though his family told him that he won't be able to achieve anything in life. This all became possible due to his teacher's unbreakable support he provided to his student, even though the student was weak in his studies, the teacher didn't effortlessly give up on him. Lastly, the student thanked his teacher and requested him to not stop teaching even after retirement. With this the conclusion of the ad depicts the teacher opening his laptop and with a soft beam learning all the things again to resume teaching.

3. Horlicks Ad

Though this ad is not yet popular it still portrays an appealing message. Often we are bound to think that laborious work can only be done by men and they are the only ones who should be taught such work. But Horlicks teaches us that even though one can't learn, one can observe and become an exception.

The ad begins with a mother and her two daughters sitting in a car driving on a highway when suddenly the tire got punctured. The mother out of concern straightaway called someone for help but stopped when she saw her older daughter getting out of the car and changing the tire, the mother and the younger daughter both came forward to help. Lastly, the older daughter smiled with a sweaty face and said "Done" and the mother asked "From where you learned this?" and the daughter said, "I had seen dad doing it". This ad shows us that we can only not do something unless we give it a try.

4. Vivo #Switchoff For Your Family Ad

Vivo always comes up with a unique story when it comes to ads and this time it has touched a topic of family. The ad shows our toxic routine which is having an oblivious effect on us and our family. The connection we share with our family at home is somehow losing its momentous charm due to our constant usage of mobile. Be it a family gathering or a simple dinner with our family members at home, we are so engrossed in our mobile that we forget to talk to the people around us.

This ad illustrates the importance of family time and appeals to us to switch off our mobile to give valuable time to our family. The ad begins with all the family members caught up in their mobile with their tiresome routine. The grandma sitting at a table waiting for all of them to arrive and when all come and start eating, they found the food taste to be stale and suddenly everyone start noticing that the food has no salt in it. Out of the utter commotion, the grandma said "Everyone notices when the salt is missing in the food but no one notices that we all are missing too" then her son said "Ma we have been together for so many days why do you say that?" then the grandma replied, "We have been together but only with our phone". Lastly, the ad ends with grandma asking everyone to hand in their mobile depicting making family time together.

I'd like to sum up the idea of creative advertising by mentioning a beautiful quote by Storm Jamesome, "Great advertising is the expression of deep emotional sincerity."
